Founded by husband and wife team, Moses Ndung'u and Sylvia Nafula, in 2001, Children's Garden Home is a community-based, non-governmental, non-profit charitable organization in Nairobi, Kenya for orphans, abandoned, abused, desperate and neglected street children regardless of religion, sex, colour or tribe. Through parental love, spiritual care, rehabilitation and non-formal education, we nurture the children to unleash their full potential towards living a good life based on self-reliance.
Like an infant, our first decade of existence was focused on learning how to walk - establishing the home that cares for 250 children today, and setting up the school to provide for primary and secondary education for the children. In 2011, we decided it is timely to work towards ensuring a long term sustainability. We endeavour to experiment with income generation activities that would not only provide a source of income for the home, but also involve and help the young to learn experientially livelihood skills and entrepreneurship.
In September 2011, we launched LITTLE FINGY'S as a social enterprise to undertake all income generating initiatives.
Little Fingy's
Children's Garden Home is the one and only beneficiary of Little Fingy's social business. And our wish is to grow Little Fingy's to achieve self-funding status for Children's Garden Home, and even provides business and career opportunities that our children might grow into.
